Jenny Jean

Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean
Why’d you have to go and die
Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean
I didn’t even get to say goodbye

I carried your books home from school
Fought many a fight for you
I knew your secrets and you knew mine

Jenny Jean Oh my sweet Jenny Jean

When my girlfriend broke my heart
You helped me to get over her
Told me things that I should have known

Jenny Jean my lovely Jenny Jean

Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean
Why’d you have to go and die
Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean
I didn’t even get to say goodbye

Life was sweeter and more fun with you around
Didn’t realize that til I went into the Corps
Letters from you made me laugh out loud
Ease my mind and forget the war.

Jenny Jean oh my Jenny Jean

Best of friends were we, then best of Lovers
Life was so special so wonderful married to you
Most of our whole lives were spent together

Sweet lovely Jenny Jean

My friend, my wife, my mate
I had a whole lifetime with you at 28
And now I’ll have to wait
wait until we meet again at Heaven’s gate

Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean

Why’d you have to go and die
Jenny Jean oh Jenny Jean
I didn’t even get to say Goodbye
                   My    Sweet Jenny Jean

Fool

Fool that I was
Fool that I am
And fool I may always be
All those years of lovin you I had not a clue that you were using me

Don’t use that four letter word around me
LOVE shouldn’t be in your vocabulary
you called me your one and only
Was that meant to be a compliment

I worked  two jobs so you could go to collage
Put my life on hold to get you started
Your crystal blue eyes looked into mine and lied
I am leaving today and yes I am broken hearted

Fool that I was
FOOL that I am
And fool I may always be
All those years of lovin you I had not a clue that you were just using me

If it’s true we reap what we sow then you’ll pay wait and see
That web of deceit you wove will surely come back on thee

Isn’t it sad that it may take me a lifetime to get over you
I now know I was never your one and only
So blind and oh so gullible I made it so easy for you didn’t I
Free at last thank God to start my life anew…So Goodbye

Fool that I was
Fool that I am
And fool I may always be
All those years of lovin you and I had not a clue that you were using me

                                       FOOL OU…………………….
THAT YOU WERE JUST USIN ME

If I Give My Heart to You

if i give my heart to you
will you  love me always
lie within my arms in sleep
thru all of life’s tomorrows

if i give my love to you
will you never let it go
wrap it within your very soul
and always – always keep it so

if my beauty fades and leaves me
my eyes lose much of their sparkle
all my thoughts begin to scatter
to You…… would any of this matter

with an unfaultering trust
will you forever adore me
still share your laughter with me
and leave a smile that i can see

if i give my heart to you
then will you my hero be
no need for any fantasy
just you and me and eternity

if i walk beside you always
then will you forever hold my hand
protecting me from lifes sorrows
and lead me to the promised land

if i’ve given you my heart
will you handle it with care
for all the love we have shared
since forever time began

forever and forever and forever more
since our time began
for ever ever ever more

Our Rules

is it so wrong to love someone outside society’s convention
should we always always always play by someone else’s rules
have you lived your whole life doing what is expected
playing by someone else’s rules

do you always always always color inside those arbitrary lines
walk only along traditional paths
the straight and narrow does it make you good
or does it make you just boring
always playing by someone else’s rules

we’re so quick to judge yet taught not to
are total strangers telling us what we can do
experience experimentation justification or just plain satisfaction
not playing by someone else’s rules

is it wrong coloring outside those arbitrary lines
or playing by our very own rules
who’s to say who’s right who’s to say who’s wrong
who’s to say we cannot play by our own rules

as long as no one’s hurt

who’s to say…

The Blues

The blues reaches down in your soul
and plucks it like a guitar string
it wraps it fingers round your heart
and strokes it till it bleeds and sings

the blues the blues the blues
the blues the blues the blues

the blues stays so deep in your soul
 long after the music fades
 away and into the night
 it hauntingly dies away

the blues the blues the blues
the blues the blues the blues

music like no other
from beale street to n’awlins
on river boats and street corners
brass to woodwinds

the blues the blues the blues
the blues the blues the blues

all that it is
and all that it gives
that kaleidoscope of sounds
its birth it has no bounds

the blues the blues the blues
the blues the blues the blues
the blues the blues the blues
