I had finished my 3 day gig
\nOn my way out of Boston
\nI stopped for a bite to eat<\/p>\n
The waitress brought the menu over
\nAnd I ordered BBQ and tea-sweet
\nShe brought out my BBQ<\/p>\n
I looked at it and said
\nYou brought me the wrong order
\nSnippily she said, \u201cThis is BBQ<\/p>\n
I slid the plate across the table
\nDidn\u2019t look like BBQ to me
\nI told her, \u201cfine-just bring me my tea\u201d<\/p>\n
She came out with a pot and a cup and saucer
\nStarted pourin\u2019 something green in that cup
\nI said, \u201cwhat is that?\u201d she said, \u201chouse blend green tea with mint\u201d<\/p>\n
I slid that next to the plate
\nTold her, \u201cLady, go find a big glass fill with ice and tea\u2014sweet\u201d
\nHer face got real puffed up and red<\/p>\n
She place a hand on the table
\nLeaned in real close and said,
\n\u201cIt\u2019s ten degrees outside you Georgia Cracker<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t serve ice tea in the winter
\nAnd you think you\u2019re gonna stiff me for that
\nThink again<\/p>\n
I slid out of the both
\nPulled out my gig pay
\nPeeled back 100\u2019s, 50\u2019s, 20\u2019s
\nFound a ten, picked up the tab
\nGave them both to her
\nAnd said, \u201cKeep the change, Little Darlin\u2019, Keep the Change<\/p>\n
Put on my cowboy hat
\nWalked to my truck
\nPointed it south<\/p>\n
Laughed and sang, \u201cKeep the change, keep the change, Little Darlin\u2019\u201d
\nAll the way to Nashville
